WHEW!

It's been a while, I know. In the past three months, Nico and I have moved countries, started a job (me), bought a flat in SF (us), moved in, decorated, finished planning a wedding and got married! WHEW!

With the dust finally settling, I think I'll have more time to actually write! We're finally unpacked -- and within the first few minutes of looking at everything we had shipped from Paris we knew that we were more than a little overzealous in sending our things to SF. Did we really need to ship towels? Or cumin, for that matter? Right, cumin as in the spice. Did I think we were moving to a third world country?

So this weekend we did what any ol' American does when they have too much stuff -- we held a garage sale. A big ol' neighbors-included garage sale. Anne even came over in the morning to rid herself of countless pairs of the wrong-size shoes and piles of clothing she didn't wear anymore or couldn't believe she bought! We actually lined up our shoes on the front steps of the building and almost got to the top! It was like what the steps of a Buddhist temple would be like since you have to take off your shoes before entering -- except the shoes were on sale for $5 a pair!

And of course, how could alcohol NOT be involved. Mimosas (OJ and champagne) in the morning and at least two packs of beer in the afternoon. At one point, we offered a free beer to anyone who bought more than $20 worth of stuff. (No winners -- which is good because we ran out of beer)

Overall, not a bad way to spend a Sunday -- in the sun, with friends (Carlo, Aida stopped by, as did Anne's new roommate), drinking beer, getting a little cash -- and more importantly, clearning out the old to start off fresh in our new home!
