After weeks of interviewing receptions places, deliberating what options we had to have and what options we could comprimise about (but we want it ALL dammit!!!) we've locked down the Monterey Marriott's Ferrantes Bay ballroom.
We originally didn't want a hotel ballroom but all the other options (a wine chateau which wouldn't let us play music past 10 pm, the Monterey Acquarium which doesn't hold receptions there during the summer anymore, the Pebble Beach golf course which had the same constraints on music as the chateau) just didn't pan out. So, we sent my mom in hopes that the Monterey Marriott had a place that we both liked.
My mom ended up liking the Ferrantes Bay ballroom, with its big bay windows and views of the Monterey Bay. We're going to have everything confirmed when we get there in December but from the photos, it's actually just what we were looking for!
